Where is Chitkul?
Chitkul is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetian border. The 11320 ft. elevated parish is sited on the banks of Baspa river- well connected with several big cities.
What is special about Chitkul for?
A small hamlet enveloped with mountains on all sides offering breath taking views and serenity one seeks from. Experience seeing a small simple village, which has still somewhere maintained its old charm. Hear the music of the Baspa river as it gushes down in its quest to meet the Sutlej. Chitkul offers a very happy aura to leave you with a longing to come back.

How many people can stay in one room?
A maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults+2 children can stay in each room. However, the third person will be charged as an extra person and is entitled to an extra mattress only.
Do you have power back-up?
Partially… Just for lights on ground floor. In each room we have AC/DC bulbs to provide light in case of power failure.
Why don’t you have power back-ups?
Given extreme weather conditions there, availability of kerosene / diesel for Generators is extremely difficult. Moreover in sub-zero temperatures chances of batteries freezing are high, making it redundant. Solar power is an option that can be possible and we shall have solar installations soon.
What type of food is available?
We serve simple “Ghar ka Khanna” with love. We believe health first,especially in travelling. Hence we do not use any Soda , food color, MSG in our preparations. We do not serve non-veg food. Eggs are available. In vegetarian options you can relish Indian,Chinese, Pastas,Sizzlers and variety of snacks and soups served hot.
Is Room Service available ?
No, we request you to come to dining room to enjoy your meals as you can enjoy them hot in the cold temperatures. We do make exceptions for senior citizens and guests who maybe unwell.
Can hot water be made available incase of Power Failure?
Sorry , hot water is available only when there is power available.
Is outside food allowed?
No, outside food is not allowed in the hotel premises.
Do you guide on things to do?
Yes, we have a front desk which can assist and suggest you for things to do.
Do you have provision for drivers’ stay?
Yes we do have a room outside the main building which can accommodate 4-5 drivers. They can use common bathroom for staff & drivers fitted with geyser for hot water.
Is the air thin here?
Well at the given elevation yes..but don’t worry there is good oxygen available..thanks to the forest cover around.
Do you have television in rooms?
No, Samaa Resorts have a no TV policy. Once in a while its better to be out in nature and enjoy company of your loved ones and like minded people around rather than sticking to the idiot box!
Which mobile networks are available?
Only BSNL…now JIO has marked its presence…but be assured both are not reliable…and also there is almost no or fluctuating internet connection. So no facebook, only face to face!!
Do you have onsite laundry service?
Yes, we provide a reliable laundry service at great prices. Drop your laundry in the morning before 10 and pick it up in the evening.
Does your hotel offer Currency Exchange?
No, Sorry we do not.
Can baggage be stored at the hotel?
Yes, we do not have a store…but we can safely keep your luggage while you are out to soak into the beauty of this hamlet.
Is a doctor available at the hotel?
A doctor can be made available, subject to availability, to your room with prior notice.
What time is your Check-in and Check-out time?
Check-in time is 12:30 pm and Check-out time is 10 am
Do you accommodate Early Check-in and Late Check-out?
Yes, but it is subject to availability. If you want to check in a few hours early or stay for a few hours longer, you could opt to pay 50% of the room rent and keep the room reserved.
Does my room reservation require any guarantee?
Yes. You could confirm your booking by paying securely on our website.
Are your prices fixed?
Our prices are usually fixed throughout the year. However, these rates can be modified for certain dates in the year. Please check with us for our latest prices.
Can I expect any discount?
Discounts may be offered only to guests who intend to stay for at least a week or longer.
How about I book months in advance? Does that make me eligible for a discount?
If you book for the peak season in advance, you are eligible for our best prices.
How do I cancel my hotel reservation?
You could drop us an email on firstname.lastname@example.org regarding the cancellation, mentioning your booking reference number that was sent to you on email. Based on our cancellation policy, your payment will be refunded.
What is the cancellation policy?
First night payment for all booked rooms are non-refundable.
For cancellations done before 15 days prior to check in date: 20% of booking amount will be charged.
For Cancellations done before 7 days prior to check in date: 50% of booking amount will be charged.
No show policy: 100% of booking amount will be charged.
The no-show policy will be applied when the guest does not show up at the hotel within 7 hours of his stipulated check in time. In such a case, the reservation will be released. Exceptions can be made if the guest establishes contact with the hotel management in writing (email) before the room is released.
It is up to SAMAA RESORTS if it wants to inform the guest when the room is released in a case of no show.
Can I modify my dates after making a confirmed booking?
No modifications in dates will be entertained seven days prior to check in. After checking in, extension of reservations is subject to availability.
Curtailing the number of days and / or rooms after checking in and making a confirmed online booking is not allowed. In such a case, no refund will be issued.
During check-in, if the guest is not sure about when he/she wants to check out, the guest needs to inform the manager at the reception at least 24 hours in advance before checking out. If the guest fails to do this, the guest needs to pay the room tariff for one extra day.
Does your hotel provide parking?
Yes. At Samaa Resorts free parking is available for all our guests.
Can I use Credit / Debit cards to book a room online?
Yes, you can securely pay online on our website to book a room.
Can I use Credit / Debit cards to pay at the reception?
No. We currently do not have this facility. We accept only cash.
Are there any ATMs nearby?
SBI Bank ATM is available in Sangla, which is approximately 35 kms away from Samaa Resorts.
Do you accept foreign currency?
We prefer payment in Indian Rupees only.

Do you provide pick up from the nearest Railway station or airport?
Yes, we can arrange for a pick up / drop on chargeable basis. Just drop us a mail with your flight / train details and a comfortable car and a reliable driver will wait for you at the airport / railway station.
What is the cost?
Depends on number of pax travelling and type of car required. You can send us an email separately for quote.
How long will it take?
From Delhi : Approximately 17 hrs. You shall reach second day with a pit stop en-route.
From Chandigarh : Approximately 13 Hrs. With a pit stop en-route
From Shimla : Approximately 7-8 Hrs. Can reach same day
